Chair of Bangarra Dance Theatre, Professor Larissa Behrendt, announced last week that after four years at the helm of Bangarra Dance Theatre, the company’s Executive Director Catherine Baldwin has decided to take up a new career opportunity overseas. Baldwin will depart Bangarra on March 6, 2014.

World Dance Movement, an organisation that presents dance workshops in exotic and beautiful locations all around the globe, has announced that they will be offering a three-week program in Castellana Grotte, Italy this coming July. From July 6 to 27, the program gives dancers the chance to not only train and study under international faculty but to partake in various excursions in a region known for its beautiful coastline.
The Royal New Zealand Ballet will launch its 2014 season this month with a U.S. tour. The company will present performances in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Minneapolis and New York. Following the U.S. tour, the RNZB will present three New Zealand tours, with a total of 61 performances in centres from Auckland to Invercargill.
International dance identities Philip Channells and Gavin Webber are collaborating for the first time to host a weeklong practice-led dance laboratory at Jasper Corner (Federal’s Community Hall and Church).
