Ausdance ACT hosts Teacher Summer School

Ausdance ACT Teacher Summer School 2014This year, Ausdance ACT will not be offering studio level classes at the annual summer school. Instead, they will host Teacher Summer School 2014, which will focus on professional teacher development. This is an excellent new opportunity for teachers in high schools, colleges and studios.

Classes will be over three days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., plus a class planning session at the end of each day. Set for 20-22 January, the program will be held in the QL2 Studio at the Gorman House Arts Centre and will be led by four great dance tutors.

A morning warm-up is guaranteed with different styles of Pilates and Yamuna Body Rolling with Erin Driscoll from Body Intelligence Pilates. In addition to daytime classes, the program will also facilitate lunchtime discussion groups to help participants engage and walkaway with new ideas from fellow teachers.

There are strictly limited numbers, so don’t miss out on this chance to get some great PD, classroom techniques and new teaching information. To get all the details, visit ausdanceact.org.au. The cost for all three days is $450, or $360 for Ausdance members.

For teachers in Victoria, Ausdance VIC is offering a summer dance teaching workshop. Scheduled for January 16 and 17, it will allow teachers to participate in the Australian pilot for the Healthy Dance Practice Certificate, endorsed by the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science.
