Yellow Wheel 2024 Audition Registrations Open
Yellow Wheel, established in Melbourne in 2012, is an Australian dance company specialising in working with young people and emerging artists. The company offers a range of programs to connect emerging dancers with professional artists, and provides rigorous contemporary dance training and professional development. Yellow Wheel presents fresh, ambitious new dance works featuring the next generation of young movers, as well as supporting emerging artists to create and present work.
They are currently seeking young groovers, emerging artists, high schoolers, pre-tertiary, tertiary, and fresh graduates aged 14+ to work with them in 2024.
Members of the YW Company commit to an exciting program that spans Terms 1 – 3. The program includes:
- Company contemporary technique class and training every Tuesday evening (during Term)
- Company contemporary technique class, training and rehearsalsevery Sunday (during Term)
- Trip The Light: Yellow Wheel’s choreographic mid-year season, with 4-8 Company members making new dance works on the 2024 Company
- Creating a new work with Artistic Director Kyall Shanks for Yellow Wheel’s 2024 Major Season.
Prospective company members will only need to attend one audition. Auditions are taking place Sunday January 21st 10 am – 1 pm, Sunday January 21st 2 pm – 5 pm, or Tuesday January 23rd 6:30 pm – 9 pm. Auditions will be at WXYZ Studios, 130 Dryburgh Street, North Melbourne. The fee for Yellow Wheel in 2024 is $950.
