Upcoming RAD Events in Western Australia

This Autumn, RAD Western Australia is offering a variety of exciting events for dancers interested in fine-tuning their skills and sharing their talents.

The Royal Academy of Dance invites you to participate in a series of intensive examination classes aimed at preparing students for RAD exams with their Autumn Syllabus Intensive. Classes are taken by Royal Academy of Dance examiners and/or tutors and focus on coaching the syllabus. Classes are available for Intermediate Foundation and above. Students should have a good knowledge of the syllabus and their chosen variations in order to gain the most benefit from attending. Examination uniform is required for all classes. The Intensive takes place 8-11 April, and registration closes 18 March. Enter now.

The Australian Advanced 1 Bursary is a scholarship of up to $5000 awarded to an outstanding student to further their RAD training. Former participants of the Bursary have gone on to place in The Fonteyn and join professional companies around the world. In 2024 RAD is pleased to be able to offer live Semi-Finals around the country once again, to give students much needed and missed performance experience with their peers. The Advanced 1 Bursary takes place 12 May, and registration closes 16 April. Enter now.

Finally, from 30 May – 2 June, RAD Australia invites students to take part in the Festival of Dance WA 2024. This Festival is open to students from WA studying all methods of training and aims to bring together the dance community in a positive and uplifting way.

The Festival of Dance gives WA dancers the chance to compete for a range of awards including four coveted and prestigious scholarships and has long been a springboard for the careers of many aspiring and pre-professional dancers in the region. The Festival has become a highlight for the dance community of WA and a fantastic performance opportunity for students.

The Festival will culminate in a Gala performance on Monday 3rd June, with performances from the award recipients and special guest artists and the awarding of the coveted David McAllister Cup. Registration closes 26 April. Click here to register now.
