Secondment Week + School Holidays at ADT

After sprinting to the finish line of festival season, Australian Dance Theatre is opening up the doors of
The Odeon to the next generation of dance artists. Tertiary dance students and recent graduates can now apply for their 2024 Secondment Week program, and they’ve got a heap of school holiday offerings for young dancers and movers of all levels.

Secondment Week is an intensive program designed to empower, inform, and inspire emerging professional dance makers. Tertiary dance students and recent graduates from Australia and New Zealand are welcomed into The Odeon to level up their practice alongside ADT Company Artists.

Secondment Week is immersive, rigorous and offers unparalleled insight into the workings of a professional dance company. Successful applicants will investigate company repertoire and movement methodologies, gaining insight into the working of a professional dance company while they level up their practice. This is a free program, with successful applicants required to cover personal costs associated with attendance.

The 2024 Secondment Week program runs from 1 – 5 July. Applications are open now and close 19 April.

Emerging dancers of all ages are invited to step into the studio with ADT these school holidays. Run by Learning Manager and lauded choreographer, Adrianne Semmens, alongside ADT company artists, this series introduces young people to ADT methodologies and repertoire in a fun and engaging environment.

There are two streams of classes on offer, one for young dancers aged 8 – 12, and a series of masterclasses for dancers aged 16 and up (including tertiary students) who want to push their skills to the next level. Cost begins at $35. Click here to book now.

The program kicks off from 15 April, with programs running at The Odeon, in Mount Barker and Victor Harbor. Cost begins at $25. Click here to book now.
