Scimm. Dance Company Returns to the Stage After Two-Year Hiatus

The professional dancers of Scimm. Dance Company return to the stage with their first performance season since 2019, ‘Fragments’: an exploration into the concept of how matter in the universe is constant, conserved and continuously changing.

Company Directors, Scott Pokorny and Tim Barnes say, “These same laws of matter apply to all of us. As we constantly evolve, we are bursting with energy and explosive potential. As we choreograph, we find ourselves asking this question – is our world in pieces, or are we pieces in this world?”

Launching at Transit Dance from January 12-14th, Fragments is choreographed by Scott Pokorny and Tim Barnes in a variety of small works and pieces showcasing the artistic talent of the dancers from their professional company.

Fragments also debuts the new single, Genesis, by music artist Tiarn Courtice alongside new choreography by company dancer Melissa Pham titled Caisson.

Scimm.’s Professional Company was founded in 2018 and strives to provide paid opportunities for professional dancers while continuing to develop their training by offering weekly classes. Scimm. Dance Company produces high-quality contemporary dance works with their unique style of fusing classical-based contemporary with modern themes and a commercial edge.

The Melbourne show season of Fragments is not to be missed with all three shows starting at 7:30 PM on January 12th, 13th and 14th at Transit Dance, 64 Dawson Street, Brunswick.

Tickets can be purchased from www.scimmdance.com.au at $42.50 for Concession and $50 for Adults.
