Queensland Ballet to Offer Two Academy School Holiday Programs
Queensland Ballet is delighted to offer two upcoming school holiday programs: Ballerina Preparation Week, 4-8 April and Boys’ Week 11-14 April.
First up is Ballerina Preparation Week, a five-day workshop for aspiring ballerinas during the April school holidays. Whether already committed to the pursuit of becoming a professional ballerina, or for younger girls wanting to further explore their passion for the art form, this focused event will be valuable and enjoyable for all.
Across the five-day program, dancers from 10 – 17+ years of age will have the opportunity to learn from Queensland Ballet Academy’s world-class faculty, as well as guest industry experts. Classes will include ballet, ladies technique, repertoire and contemporary dance, as well as additional sessions about pointe shoe care, hair and stage makeup, sports psychology, body conditioning and a Q&A with Queensland Ballet faculty.
This event will be held at Queensland Ballet Academy’s state-of-the-art home in Kelvin Grove, in compliance with COVID-19 health regulations.
Classes will take place from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm AEST each day. Cost is $650 for Standard Registration and $520 for Academy Program Levels 6-1. To provide the most enriching experience for dancers, limited places are available.

Next up, is Boys’ Week. This popular event sees boys from all over Australia, coming to dance together in a professional and supportive environment amongst their peers. It is an invaluable opportunity which offers an outstanding training and educational experience for those already dedicated to the pursuit of becoming tomorrow’s ‘danseurs’, as well as the chance for younger or less experienced dancers to further explore their passion for dance.
Across this four-day program, dancers from 10 – 17+ years of age will have the opportunity to learn from Queensland Ballet Academy and Queensland Ballet’s esteemed male faculty, as well as guest experts. Classes will include ballet, male technique, repertoire and contemporary dance, as well as additional sessions in male fitness, sports psychology, body conditioning and a Q&A with our faculty.
This event will be held at Queensland Ballet Academy’s state-of-the-art home in Kelvin Grove, in compliance with COVID-19 health regulations.
