Mini Movers are back at VDF24!

Calling all mini movers! VDF has a unique program just for dancers aged 3-6. Children dance before they even learn to walk…and that’s why VDF thinks it’s important to nurture that natural instinct and allow them to explore all kinds of movement.

Join VDF for three fun-filled introductory dance classes from leading international dance syllabi and preschool education specialists. Each class lasts up to 45 minutes with time to rest, play, and snack at VDF’s yummy food trucks in between.

“VDF is a festival for the whole community. That includes those taking their very first steps in dance! With our Mini Movers program we want to introduce children to the joy and endless possibility of movement. That’s why we engage leading international pre-school syllabi and dance programs to spark their love of all things dance in a positive and empowering environment right here at VDF,” says VDF Director and Mum of a Mini Dancer, Deborah Searle.

Mini Movers Classes are on Sat 13 April delivered by internationally renowned specialists in preschool dance education from around the world including – Baby Ballet (UK), Rambert Grades (UK), and Ready Set Dance (AU). Plus, a very special ‘twirly’ guest: Emma Memma!

Beloved Australian children’s entertainer Emma Watkins is back with her new character ‘Emma Memma’! Emma Memma focuses on visual communication, so come and join Emma to learn some dance moves with integrated sign language elements. There will be lots of joyful music, twirling, and plenty of wombat dancing too! Enjoy a dance with Emma Memma and stay to meet her and take a photograph after.

All Mini Movers tickets include access to all Mini Classes and Dance Market access. Classes will take place 13 April from 10 am – 2 pm in the Exhibition Pavilion of Melbourne Showgrounds. Book your Mini Movers pass for access to all classes for just $20! Tickets include one free chaperone pass.
