FLING Physical Theatre Summer Offerings
Do you have a young person at home who would love to get moving these Summer Holidays? Then send them to FLING! FLING Physical Theatre is offering some fabulous dance opportunities for those end of January days.
FLING Summer Dance Sessions will be led by the incredible Emma Saunders, Artistic Director of WE ARE HERE Company. Participants will experience some fantastic choreographic games from her 2020 work ENCOUNTER. Participants will also be invited to perform with the FLING Company in ENCOUNTER RECOUNTER on Thursday 25 Jan in the afternoon.
FLING’s Summer Dance Sessions will be offered 23-25 January at the FLING Studio, 45-47 Eden Street, Bega, NSW. Session 1 for dancers 7-10yrs will be from 9-10AM each day, and Session 2 for 11-14yrs will be from 10-11AM each day. Enjoy all three days for $80, or join a single session for $30. For dancers aged 14-25 years, join FLING’s Regional Youth Arts Explosion: four days of intensive moving, making and creating with dance rockstar Emma Saunders and dancers from the We Are Here Company. As we jump back into the world of ENCOUNTER, Emma Saunder’s spectacular work from 2020 made in collaboration with FORM Dance Projects, Sydney Youth Orchestra and FLING, dancers will learn the scores, and adapt this work for a local presentation on Thursday 25th Jan 2024.

Emma Saunders is an award winning Australian dance artist who works as a director, choreographer, performer, theatremaker, educator, dance curator and producer.
Over the past 25 years she has honed her practice to develop a solid body of work with an interest in the simplicity of dance and the complexity of choreography. Utilising a visceral, instinctive attack, her work is immediate, often working with humour, theatre, everyday movement, text, repetition, deconstruction, scale, site, duration and abstraction.
Emma, co-founded the award-winning Sydney based trio, The Fondue Set, alongside Jane McKernan and Elizabeth Ryan. After the success of ENCOUNTER, at Sydney Festival 2020, Emma began her own company, the WE ARE HERE Company.
