Exceptional Performance at the heart of WAAPA’s Dance Program

The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, or WAAPA as it is most well known, has trained some of the biggest names in theatre and dance and claims exceptional performance, based on world-class training and education, lies at the heart of their successful Dance program. They aim to produce graduates who are technically outstanding, artistically creative and effortlessly adaptable, ready for a fulfilling career in dance.

WAAPA’s unique mix of vocational (VET) and degree courses allows you to train in your preferred dance discipline: Classical Ballet or Contemporary Dance. These disciplines are taught by industry professionals who are committed to developing and refining each student’s individual skills.

WAAPA offers a Diploma of Professional Dance (Elite Performance), Advanced Diploma of Professional Dance (Elite Performance), Bachelor of Arts (Dance) and a Bachelor of Performing Arts (Hons) LINK DANCE COMPANY giving students the opportunity to perform with a resident company as part of their training.

LINK Dance Company closely replicates the range of activities experienced in a small professional company. Dancers attend daily class and rehearse with highly regarded Australian and international choreographers to achieve multiple performance and practice-based outcomes including local performances, site-specific work, a dancers’ choreographic season and, when the opportunity arises, either local, national or international touring.

Applications for all courses close on 1 September with live auditions around the country available. See here for more details.
