BlakDance Upcoming Tour Dates

BlakDance, a national industry organization for First Nations Contemporary Dancers and Choreographers, has announced their upcoming spring tours.

Following the success of their 2022 show Waŋa, NT Dance Company offer a powerful, moving dance duet that navigates the limits of physical expression.

Gary Lang’s The Other Side of Me shares a poignant new angle on Stolen Generations – one young man adopted and raised in a small UK village. Stranded between two families, two countries and two cultures, this delicate duet explores colonisation’s grey areas, its wide ranging destructive impact for all involved. It offers its audience the opportunity to experience the singing of a young man’s spirit home.

The Other Side of Me will tour April-June 2024 throughout West and Central Australia. Click here for full tour details and tickets.

After a huge 19 venue national tour over 2023, be sure to catch Karul Projects’ SILENCE at the Sydney Opera House, 8 to 11 May 2024 as part of the Unwrapped season.

Funny and irreverent and reverberating with power… If you think you know Australian contemporary dance, you haven’t seen SILENCE. With thrashing live drumming and a raw aesthetic, Thomas E.S. Kelly has combined intimate storytelling with significant moments in Australian history as SILENCE interprets an ongoing conversation for a new generation.
