Announcing ADC’s Pre-Professional Program
Australasian Dance Collective is thrilled to announce their Pre-Professional Program for contemporary dancers will start in 2025 offering invaluable experience for students to train at ADC and graduate with an Advanced Diploma of Professional Dance (Elite Performance).
ADC is committed to nurturing future generations of dance artists and this nationally recognised qualification takes a holistic approach to build the skills and experience required for a sustainable career in dance
ADC will partner with a Registered Training Organisation, the Australian Teachers of Dance (ATOD, RTO 31624), to provide accreditation for the program.
Led by a team of industry professionals, the course provides excellence in training and performance and aims to cultivate creative, versatile and employable dance artists with strong and diverse artistic voices and excellence in technical and performance capabilities.
“A training program guided by a professional dance company provides unparalleled industry experience as participants are immersed in the environment and connect regularly with professional choreographers, dancers and industry specialists.” – Amy Hollingsworth, Artistic Director
The course provides excellence in training and performance with four pillars of focus:
Creative Practice – students will expand their understanding of creative practice and develop their unique artistic voices through exposure to a broad range of choreographic processes including improvisation and task work. Understanding and experiencing collaboration, and the associated skills, will be key to their development.
Physical Practice – students will develop and refine their skills in a variety of contemporary and classical techniques, bolstered by conditioning and somatic practices. Through the pursuit of excellence, the training will create skilful, versatile and dynamic dance artists.
Sustainable Practice – students will gain the skills required to be ‘industry ready’ in the current and future arts landscape. Wellbeing, resilience and creative capability will be prioritised alongside practical skills in producing, arts administration and art form advocacy.
Multidisciplinary Practice – students will work across a range of mediums and environments to develop their skills in creating for and collaborating within digital, site-specific and non-traditional settings.
