2022 Asia Dance Audition X Korea International Contemporary Dance Competition
Asia Dance Audition and Korea International Contemporary Dance Competition are offering an all-in-one event. With both virtual and in-person options, this opportunity is available to dancers around the world. Due to the recent economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, the organizers decided to make online and offline categories. Participants are free to choose whether they would attend online or offline if they are selected for the Semi-finals (Competition) and/or Finals (Audition).
For the Asia Dance Audition portion, dancers ages 18 and above can participate in an open audition for four professional companies: Kamea Dance Company (Israel); MiR Dance Company Gelsenkirchen (Germany); The Ballet of Theater Plauen-Zwickau (Germany; and Quorum Ballet (Portugal). Contracts offered will be full-time, guest/production, invitation & scholarships for training. This is the biggest open audition in Asia since 2018. So far, a total of 85 contracts have been offered by 34 companies/ballet schools to 52 dancers.
Korea International Contemporary Dance Competition (KICDC) is the representative international contemporary dance competition of Korea since 2010, recognized by the UNESCO International Dance Federation. This competition is for dancers aged 12-34 (Pre-junior / Junior / Senior Category). Prize money will be up to $3,000. Awards will be given for all levels both for online and offline participants.
As this is a joint event, dancers will automatically be registered for KICDC (Competition) upon registering for ADA (Audition). The dancers will then go through the Preliminary Rounds for BOTH events. If the dancer is selected for the semi-finals, they are free to choose whether or not they would like to participate.
The registration deadline to participate is 21 August. The first round of auditions takes place 17-18 September, and the semi-finals/finals take place 19-21 September. For more information, visit https://asiadanceaudition.com/adac
