Tim Podesta keeps making waves abroad
Over the past three months, Australian choreographer Tim Podesta has co-produced a fundraising gala in Ethiopia, directed and choreographed a new film in New York, had two world premieres in the U.K. and led an international ballet school in Wales.
All of these projects have been in collaboration with leading dancers, producers and directors from across the world.
Les Copines, one of Podesta’s most recent premieres, included principal dancers from The Royal Danish Ballet, The English National Ballet, The Berlin Ballet and The Royal Ballet, with one review calling the work “an exquisite, poignant and witty new ballet.”
Sometime in the coming weeks, Podesta’s new short dance film, Architecture of Loss, will be released. Architecture of Loss was shot in New York in collaboration with global cosmetics brand Davines.
The film features Royal Ballet Guest Principal Artist Mara Galeazzi, who said, “Tim and I have a wonderful friendship and a creative partnership that is taking us around the world. Tim’s work is exciting and captivates audiences with its beauty and originality.”
