Teacher Professional Development by the Australian Ballet’s Education Program

The Australian Ballet’s Education Team deliver Teacher Professional Development across Australia. Training is available for specialist and generalist school teachers and is delivered in partnership with schools or local venues as part of The Australian Ballet’s Education Program.

The session will be taught by a member of The Australian Ballet’s Education Team and results in a certificate of participation (linked to AITSL standards).

The sessions are supported by resources on The Australian Ballet’s EduHub. EduHub is an online resource designed for school teachers and students of all levels, which provides resources built around the works of The Australian Ballet. 

Suitable for Primary School Teachers

Discover how their education team uses a dance education approach to support the learning of STEAM subjects; science, technology, engineering, arts and maths. You will leave with useful ideas to bring dance into your classroom and to support the learning of other subjects. This session is suitable for generalist or specialist primary school teachers and will provide accessible ideas that complement the curriculum for dance and other learning areas. Dance experience is not necessary.

Suitable for Secondary Performing Arts Teachers
Explore elements such as the design, choreography, music and characters from The Australian Ballet’s productions. You will leave with a deeper understanding of the work of The Australian Ballet and how this can support curricular learning.
This session is suitable for secondary school performing arts teachers and will provide accessible ideas that complement the curriculum for dance and other learning areas. This session is designed for performing arts teachers, however dance experience is not necessary.
