Tap documentary invites video submissions

Based out of Los Angeles, California, Emmy Award-winning Executive Producer Dean Hargrove and Producer Jeff Peters have teamed up with Tap Dancers and Producers Chloé and Maud Arnold to create an online competition and feature-length documentary titled Tap World.

The project’s mission is to educate and entertain the world by highlighting the stories of individuals whose dreams, passions and goals have been shaped by the art form of tap dancing.

Regardless if one is a tap student, teacher, professional, elder, dance crew member, company dancer or just involved in the tap community, everyone of all ages and levels are encouraged to submit a video by the deadline of Dec. 31 to be uploaded to the official Tap World YouTube Channel.

A panel of celebrity judges and Tap World’s producers will then be reviewing the submissions and chose the winners from YouTube to be shown on the big screen in the feature-length documentary.

Sisters and Producers Chloé and Maud Arnold will be part of the panel of judges. The two are well versed not only in tap, but the general performance industry. Chloé Arnold, an internationally sought after choreographer and performer, can be seen on film, television, and stages worldwide. Co-Founder of the DC Tap Festival and Co-Director of the LA Tap Festival, her most recent highlights include a guest performance on FOX’s hit television series So You Think You Can Dance, a sold-out New York City run of her one-woman show My Life. My Diary. My Dance., a Global Fusion Concert in Dubai with 10 of the world’s most accomplished musicians, and Jason Samuels Smith’s Charlie’s Angels: A tribute to Charlie Parker off-Broadway at the Kitchen.

Likewise, Maud Arnold is taking the tap and commercial entertainment world by storm. Teaching and performing in Brazil, Barcelona, Russia and all across the United States,  she has quickly become a sought after teacher, judge and performer. She has worked as a stand-in and body double for Beyoncé on three music videos, including “Single Ladies” as well as three national commercials including her latest Target spot for her album “4.” She has shared the stage with Debbie Allen, Jason Samuels Smith, Savion Glover and Jared Grimes in addition to being the Co-director and Producer of DC Tap Festival with her sister. Most recently you can catch her in the latest music video for rock band The Fray.
