Image by Gregory Lorenzutti.Expressions of Interest (EOI’s) are still being accepted for STRUT Dance’s first program of 2017 – a Master Workshop with Antony Hamilton and his longtime collaborator Alisdair Macindoe. This collaborative opportunity will take place February 20 – March 3 at King Street Arts Centre and State Theatre Centre of WA in Studio Underground.

Hamilton, who has been a key STRUT artist since 2014, conceived this intensive two-week choreography and stage-design master workshop with Macindoe. It is meant for dance theatre artists who wish to extend their own professional practice.

The first focus (Hamilton’s movement) is full of ritual and precision. It operates in a rigorous, almost mechanistic language of breaking, popping and locking.

The second focus (Stage Design) will consider one of Hamilton and Macindoe’s latest works, Meeting. Being presented in PIAF 2017, it will include studio research and in-theatre experiences where participants will experience the technical rehearsals and performances.

For those dance artists who are also instructors, there will also be an opportunity to be part of PIAF’s Education Program.

Submit an EOI to communications@strutdance.org.au for this program. EOI’s are being accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Other upcoming STRUT Master Workshops include: Kidd Pivot (February 25); Stephanie Lake (April 6 – 12); Jonathan Burrows (April 29); Maxine Doyle (May 15 – 26); Andrew Morrish/Humphrey Bower (August 9-19); Crystal Pite/Kidd Pivot (September 11 – 22); and Hofesh Shechter (November 6 – 17).
