STRUT Dance presents “HOFESH IN THE YARD” at Perth Festival 2020

Recognised as one of the most exciting artists working in contemporary dance today, Hofesh Shechter is renowned for creating his own genre. Part dance, part gig, part theatre and wholly original, his work has its own unique and instantly identifiable voice. Spectacularly bold and ambitious, his creations are at once comic, bleak and beautiful, evoking a world at odds with itself, full of anarchic energy and violent comedy.

Join Perth’s own STRUT Dance at State Theatre Centre of WA for a Hofesh Schechter double-bill to have you buzzing, performed outside and in the round by 12 independent artists from across Australian and New Zealand region, including nine of our own West Australians from 18 Feb to 1st March 2020. The explosive mega hit Uprising, seven men emerge from the shadows to bombard the stage with furious energy, bonding and sparring, making up and falling out. tHE bAD is a volatile explosion of dub-step grooves that is joyous and trance-like.

Drink in hand, you can wander through the venue and immerse yourself in the action from multiple viewing-points at ground level or purchase a seat upstairs in the gallery and watch the mosh pit party hard!
