Perth Moves 2024

After the success of Perth Moves in 2023, STRUT Dance is back with a free 10-day dance hub that celebrates movement, music, connection and community – in the courtyard of the State Theatre Centre of WA (STCWA).

Start your day with morning meditations led by a stellar line-up of musicians and movement practitioners. We’ll siesta thru lunchtime to let Boorloo’s bunuru heat pass before welcoming you back to witness bite-sized events and performances by world-renowned choreographers and dancers.

Perform with Australia’s DEEP SOULFUL SWEATS – a guided astrological dance performed by anyone and everyone – or watch 12 dancers from the Indo-Pacific perform in international choreographer, movement researcher and club culture celebrator Michele Rizzo’s Coalescing Towards with an original score from local composer Ozlem Kesik.

Take to the dance floor yourself and participate in open contemporary, Afro and salsa classes or even an all-styles, all-ages dance battle. If nothing else, boogie under the stars until late with Perth’s leading DJs including Rok Riley, Jxnior, BEXX, and PTMC.

Drop by in the morning to stretch out before work or make a night of it and join us before or after your Festival show at the State Theatre Centre. Down at the hub, there’s something for all ages and abilities to move to.
