Musical Bang Bang: A musical like you’ve never seen before!

Presented by Hayes Theatre Co and Bang Bang Rodeo, Musical Bang Bang is the best live musical you’ve never seen. Why? Because it doesn’t exist yet…it’s Improv!

From a cult event at the Old Fitz to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, this must-be-seen-to-be-believed onslaught now takes up a quarterly residence at the Hayes. Actor-comedians Jane Watt (Jazz or a Bucket of Blood, Godspell, Spamalot) and Rob Johnson (Calamity Jane, The Boomkak Panto, Rosehaven) lead an ensemble of Sydney’s best improvisers, as well as some special – possibly terrified – guests from the top ranks of Australian musical theatre. With Tom Cardy (Comedian, Songwriter, YouTube star), Victoria Falconer (Smashed, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes), Orya Golgowsky (Professional improviser), and Julia Zemiro (Thank God You’re Here, Fisk, RocKwiz) you’re in for an absolute treat. 

This foolhardy troupe will invent an all-singing, all-dancing extravaganza while “yes and”-ing each other into oblivion – all on the set of whichever production is showing at the Hayes at the time. The first half will feature an array of short-form improv madness, before the cast unleashes an entirely improvised, one-night-only musical in the second half.

Featuring a very game musical director, plus a sound and lighting technician who will improvise along with the cast, Musical Bang Bang is the best night of unscripted musical theatre you will (probably) ever see.
