Marc Brew offers dance workshops in QLD
Did you hear that internationally acclaimed choreographer Marc Brew is coming to Brisbane this week? First he’ll be presenting at the highly-anticipated Come Together Dance Convention at Mantra On View on the Gold Coast from September 26-28, and then he’ll teach for Access Arts members on Thursday, September 29 and again for the larger public through Ausdance QLD on Friday, September 30 at the Judith Wright Centre in Fortitude Valley.
Currently Guest Artistic Director at AXIS Dance Company (a physically integrated contemporary dance troupe in Oakland, CA, USA) and Associate Artistic Director at Ballet Cymru (a ballet company who likes to “do things a bit differently” in Wales, UK), Marc Brew specialises in leading training workshops for Integrated Dance Practices.
As a choreographer, he has created works for AXIS, Candoco Dance Company, Touch Compass, Amy Seiwert’s Imagery, GDance and the Scottish Ballet. His movement language often combines contemporary technique with classical ballet to create work that is “honest, unsentimental and recognisably human.” To read his full biography, head to www.marcbrew.com/marc-brew-company/biography.
