Lion Heart to premiere ‘Fabricated’ in Prahran

Fabricated by Lion Heart Dance CompanyIn August, Lion Heart Dance Company will present a new work entitled Fabricated. This premiere promises to be an honest unpacking of “happily ever after”, where the audience is privy to a couple’s discovery of romance and where it takes them. It reveals that while expectations are high and reality can be jarring, love and hope can prevail.

The elegant choreography will be interpreted by the six current company members – Priscilla Daniels, Kendal Davis, Andrew Liu, Conner Micallef, Jake O’Brien and Jodie Toogood. These dancers are not only physically versatile but offer incredible emotional availability.

Fabricated by Lion Heart Dance CompanyFabricated will be presented at Chapel off Chapel, located at 12 Little Chapel Street, Prahran. It runs August 17, 18, 19 and 20 at 7:30 pm, with a matinee also set for August 20 at 2 pm.
Tickets can be purchased at www.chapeloffchapel.com.au.

As part of the Fabricated season, Lion Heart is giving students unique opportunities to engage with its director (Benjamin Curé) and company members. Secondary schools from across Melbourne have signed up their students to participate in the schools’ program, including a dance workshop, a matinee viewing of Fabricated and a cast Q&A. It is not too late for schools to express their interest in participating in this, or future programs. They’re invited to email info@lionheartdancecompany.com or visit www.lionheartdancecompany.com for more information.

Fabricated by Lion Heart Dance CompanyLion Heart has quickly become more than just a producer of independent dance works. It’s also become an eager participant in the city of Stonnington, basing itself in local arts hubs like the Space Dance and Arts Centre and Chapel off Chapel. It has also received funding from the Stonnington Council’s Arts and Culture grants program. Lion Heart has enjoyed steady expansion and Fabricated will be its second feature-length show. In addition, the company is currently working on a series of video projects.

As the Lion Heart community continues to grow, Curé is determined to hold onto the core vision for the company, to “fuel the Australian dance industry with passionate artists and purposeful work.”
