Houston Ballet Academy to hold two auditions
The Houston Ballet Academy, based in southeast Texas, USA, is coming to Brisbane and Sydney soon! As part of its international audition tour, the academy is auditioning students who want to participate in its 2019 Summer Intensive Program.
Since its establishment in 1955, the Houston Ballet Academy has provided elite ballet training to aspiring dancers. Its outstanding faculty includes teachers who have performed with the Houston Ballet company and other prestigious ensembles around the world.
In addition to running the fifth largest ballet company in America, Houston Ballet boasts Houston Ballet II too. This second company provides advanced student dancers the opportunity to dance leading roles in varied repertoire. In turn, the dancers acquire unparalleled performance experience while serving the community.
Houston Ballet Academy’s six-week Summer Intensive Program will take place at its Center for Dance on June 17-July 27, 2019. Students will be in class six to eight hours each day for six days a week. They’ll even explore Houston through fun field trips, visiting attractions like NASA, the Museum of Natural Science and the Schlitterbahn Waterpark.
The Brisbane auditions are January 13 and the Sydney auditions are January 19. For more information or to pre-register, visit www.houstonballet.org. Preregistration is available for each city until midnight on the Tuesday prior to each audition.
Note that while video auditions are also accepted, the academy strongly prefers in-person auditions. The deadline to submit a summer video audition is February 12.
