Free screening of QLD Ballet’s ‘Nutcracker’
Queensland Ballet has announced a free outdoor screening of its sold-out Nutcracker at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday 21 December at River Quay, South Bank. The screening is part of the Bright Star Christmas program at South Bank. This is Queensland Ballet’s first outdoor screening, and is being produced in partnership with Brisbane Marketing.
Audiences will also find out about making the beautiful sets and props for The Nutcracker with behind-the-scenes footage aired at interval.
Artistic Director Li Cunxin encourages people to head down to River Quay for the screening. “Grab your friends and family, and head down to South Bank to enjoy our magical production on the big screen this Christmas.”
Queensland Ballet’s 2013 season of The Nutcracker has proved incredibly popular and is completely sold out. “The screening is a great way to see The Nutcracker if you missed out on tickets to this year’s production at QPAC,” comments Cunxin.
A small number of tickets to selected performances may be released next week. Audiences are advised to check Queensland Ballet’s website if they are keen to snap up the last remaining seats.
With sparkling dance, stunning sets by Tom Boyd and sumptuous costumes by Desmond Heeley and Noelene Hill, Ben Stevenson’s acclaimed production of The Nutcracker is the perfect festive celebration for the whole family.
