FORM Dance presents three new shows

FORM Dance is celebrating and elevating Parramatta’s history and communities with three thrilling new shows: If These Walls Could Sing, Lost Stories. Found, and Songs from the Sky.

FORM Dance in partnership with Create NSW’s Culture Up Late initiative and City of Parramatta present a feast for the eyes, ears and taste buds at Parramatta Town Hall with If These Walls Could Sing.

Sydney luminary Christine Johnston and her band magically weave stories of place and people into a compelling song-cycle, where you can hear, see and taste the beauty and diversity of who we were, who we are and what we aspire to become as a community in Parramatta, Western Sydney.

From eel, yam and shepherd’s pie, to dumplings, samosa, sfeehas and the nori roll – how time and tastes have flown through Parramatta. Through the eyes of the Rosella and the tastebuds of the Ibis, celebrate the history and culture of Parramatta as told through song, dance and feasting.

Meet the charismatic Flying Pieman and be transported to the time of the Inspector of Nuisances, Haydn’s Oratorio and the banning of Rock n Roll in Parramatta Town Hall.

Join FORM for an evening of historical highlights in Parramatta Town Hall as it opens its doors once again to its rich and diverse community. Performances will be 6pm – 7:30pm Friday and Saturdays, 16 & 17, 23 & 24 February 2024, and Saturday and Sunday: 2 & 3 March 2024. Tickets are Free, but booking is essential.

Lost Stories. Found. is a bite-sized look into Parramatta’s unique history and legendary characters through a self-guided audio experience – as told by the Flying Pieman.

Experience story-telling at its most up close and personal. Let the charismatic figure of William Francis King, the infamous Flying Pieman feed you the stories of Parramatta’s past in the newly refurbished Parramatta Town Hall.

Step inside an immersive sculptural installation inspired by the landscape of the Parramatta River and hear stories of place and community through a personal device. Patrons have a choice to use one of the 10 supplied headsets or download the experience to their own personal device.

Lost Stories. Found. will run from 5pm – 7:00pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays, 20, 21 & 22 February 2024, and 27, 28 & 29 February 2024 at Parramatta Town Hall. Tickets are free and bookings are preferred, though walk-ins are welcome.
