Expressions of interest open for a dance course developed by TAFE NSW with ACFIPS and Ausdance NSW

Expressions of interest are being taken between August 29th to September 20th to take part in an accredited dance course developed by TAFE NSW in collaboration with ACFIPS and Ausdance NSW. This funded one day course addresses the skills and knowledge needed to teach students who may have specific needs. 

 

The course will run from 9.00am-5.00pm on 28 October 2019 at Parramatta Town Hall, Parramatta, NSW, courtesy of FORM Dance Projects, one of Australia’s leading dance presenters.

 

Participants will study and practice with industry colleagues and upon successful completion of assessment tasks will receive a Statement of Attainment for two competency units: Work effectively with diversity and Develop dance improvisation skills.

 

The content will cover:

  • How to work well with people with disability/diverse backgrounds
  • Appropriate language, cultural understanding, etiquette
  • Diversity – tackling issues and challenging topics
  • Improvisation – working creatively and engaging with people who may move, think or feel differently

 

Jessica Conneely will facilitate the day, and is a professional dancer/ teacher who has vast experience in teaching dance to diverse participants and also teaching teachers how to improvise and adapt to the variety of class participants they will encounter.
