Dance and Say G’Day

This Australia Day people from across the globe will become the nation’s newest citizens. The Australia Day Council of NSW wants Sydney’s huge dance community to join them in Sydney’s Biggest Backyard (aka Hyde Park) to Say G’day to the newly-minted Aussies in a true-blue way.

The song is a classic – Farnsy’s You’re the Voice. The dance has been put together by one of Sydney’s hottest choreographers – Jet Verne. The message is this: once the 17 newest citizens have taken their pledge we want to remind them that with the privileges of citizenship comes the responsibility of using their voice to make ours a better country.

It’s part Flashmob, part planned-spontaneous dance, but it should be a lot of fun! So if you’re interested in joining the fun check out http://urbandance.com.au/udc/3303 and help make it an awesome Australia Day welcome for our new citizens.

If you’d just like to watch get to Hyde Park Main stage at Hyde Park North by 2pm on Thursday January 26.
