Choreographer of HAIR returns to Gold Coast for inspiring masterclass
Amy Campbell, one of Australia’s most accomplished dance talents, and choreographer of the 50th Anniversary Australian Tour of HAIR, the Original Tribal Rock Musical comes to Gold Coast’s HOTA, Home of the Arts for a dynamic and inspiring masterclass on Thursday October 10.
The 90-minute workshop allows participants to gain a learn from Amy’s process and choreographic style as well as insights from her wealth of experience in the dance and music theatre industries.
Amy’s impressive list of accomplishments as a performer and choreographer in dance, theatre and TV productions is too long to mention but includes choreographing the 2019 Helpmann Award-nominated In The Heights, The Bodyguard Musical Australia, and TV’s Dance Academy, The X Factor and Giggle and Hoot as well as performing in the Dirty Dancing Australian Tour and the world premiere of King Kong Live on Stage.
South East Queensland audiences will have the opportunity to experience Amy’s work firsthand when HAIR comes to the HOTA Outdoor Stage for two shows only on October 11 and 12.
HAIR features the sensational star of The Voice, Prinnie Stevens, Logie award winning TV and theatre star, Hugh Sheridan and two time ARIA Award winning Paulini leading a talented tribe of emerging Australian musical theatre stars including Queenslanders Matthew Manahan in the role of Claude and Angelique Cassimatis (Priscilla/Saturday Night Fever) as oxygen-conscious Jeanie.
The production has already toured in Perth, Geelong and Wyong to rave reviews and will head to Wollongong and Sydney before concluding with two shows at HOTA.
