Brisbane Festival calls for independent artists

Brisbane FestivalBrisbane Festival is committed to providing opportunities for independent artists in all areas of the performing arts, including emerging, mid-career and established practitioners.

Expressions of interest are now being sought from independent artists interested in having their work considered for programming in Brisbane Festival 2013. Officials are seeking small to medium size works with weekly presenting fees between $1,000 to $10,000.

Expressions of interest may include either existing work or a clear outline for new work to be premiered at Brisbane Festival. Particular areas of focus for programming in 2013 include contemporary performance and installation-based work.

Contemporary performance specifically includes smaller intimate works in traditional and non-traditional spaces, promenade-based or roving-based performance works or performances suitable for studio or warehouse style venues.

Installation-based work may include independent artists with design/performance-based installation work that can be positioned in either indoor or outdoor venues across Brisbane.

All submitted expressions of interest will be reviewed by David Berthold, Brisbane Festival’s Independent Performing Arts Curator.
