Boys’ Summer School celebrates 10th year

International Boys’ Ballet Summer School SydneyThe 10th International Boys’ Ballet Summer School is set for December 28, 2015 to January 2, 2016 at the Shore School in North Sydney. A full-scale residential summer intensive, it is conducted over six days by top teachers and choreographers.

The school caters to boys from age 7 to 20 from all over Australia and beyond who do ballet. In addition to dancing, they’ll enjoy
recreational activities like swimming and basketball, and excursions to Luna Park and Wet’n’Wild.

One of the many reasons the intensive is unique is its faculty, which includes Artistic Director Bill Pengelly, a former dancer with Sydney Dance Company, rehearsal director with Bangarra Dance Theatre, interim director of West Australian Ballet and artistic director for Australian Dance Theatre. The Australian Ballet’s Tim Harbour will guest tutor and varied freelancer Jason Robert will also teach.

Did we mention that participants in this intensive also get to watch the New Year’s Eve fireworks from one of the best vantage points in Sydney? How neat!
