Australian Dance Theatre Offers Winter School Holiday Workshops

Australian Dance Theatre (ADT) is pleased to offer two Winter School Holiday Workshops for aspiring dancers aged 8 and above. A Junior workshop (ages 8-12) will be offered Monday, July 11 through Friday, July 15. A Senior workshop (ages 13+) will be offered Monday, July 18 through Friday, July 22.

The workshops are designed for all levels of dance experience and are taught in a fun and engaging environment. The sessions provide an opportunity for young audiences to connect with company dancers and through the activities, engage with the themes and repertoire of the company’s current production.

Taught by the company artists, the workshops will allow young people to develop their dance skills in a fun and open environment at Australian Dance Theatre’s home, The Odeon. Each workshop includes warm up, skill development and creative dance activities inspired by the company’s current work in development.

Dancers should wear comfortable dance wear e.g. trackpants and t-shirt, shorts and t-shirt. You can choose to dance barefoot or in socks. Dancers should also bring a drink bottle (no glass) and a mask if they are 12 years or over.

Based in Adelaide, South Australia, Australian Dance Theatre is at the forefront of Australian contemporary dance, committed to creating dance works of the highest standard that are intellectually and artistically compelling.

All classes will take place from 9:30-11:30 AM each day. Cost is $25 for a one-day pass, and $100 for a week-long pass. You may also bring a friend with you for $40 – the pass is good for one day.

Both workshops will take place at The Odeon, 57A Queen Street Norwood SA, 5067.
