Audition for The Edge Performers School
The Edge Performers School, located in Eltham in Victoria, offers Full Time Commercial Dance Training. Auditions for 2014 intake are now open.
The Edge’s intensive one-year full time course is structured to launch participants into a professional career in dance. The Edge teaching faculty includes some of Australia’s best choreographers and international performers, and the program provides individual attention and a more personal approach to rigorous dance training.
In the Full Time Commercial Dance Training course, class sizes are capped at 20 students with a maximum of 40 placements offered each year. This keeps the training intimate and concentrated on the select students.
Students, which are selected on their technical ability, their dedication and their passion for furthering their skills, can choose from a variety of class subjects, including commercial jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, contemporary, ballet, musical theatre, drama, singing and tap.
Graduates of The Edge have gone on to perform in productions such as Legally Blonde, Hairspray and Wicked, as well at Tokyo Disney, on various cruise lines, with Collaboration the Project, Holla Back Hip Hop Crew, Rewind Hip Hop Crew, Soul Symphony Movement and on reality TV.
Full Time auditions for 2014 intake are now open, with group auditions scheduled each Thursday and private auditions available by appointment. Another audition opportunity is The Edge Full Time School’s Open Week Workshop, set for September 30 to October 2. Limited positions are available for those wishing to audition for the school, so it’s recommended to register early.
