Applications Open for Queen Street Studio’s Performing Arts Residency

Queen Street Studio are putting the call out for performing artists to apply for their 2012 Performing Arts Residency Program which will provide ten successful applications with up to three weeks of free rehearsal or development space. The residency program, now in its fourth year, aims to support artistic and professional development through a diversity of performance practises. It is open to both emerging and established professional artists (individuals or groups) from NSW with priority given to artists from inner-city Sydney.

A broad view of the term “performing arts” is considered, including – but not limited to – dance, theatre, digital arts and cross-disciplinary collaborations.  Residents will also receive a weekly stipend of $600 providing their project is unfunded.

Since 2009, Queen Street Studio have given away Performing Arts Residencies to 38 individual artists and companies, adding up to 1800 hours of free space.

Applications close Thursday Jan 12.
