The full time courses at Transit Dance have been developed in conjunction with leading choreographers and dance industry professionals. They are designed to prepare students for a career as a performer or creator in the Contemporary, Performing Arts or Musical Theatre arenas.
The major focus of the courses is practical dance training. Students will develop and refine a high level of technical ability in subjects such as Contemporary Dance, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Commercial Dance, Classical Ballet, Singing, Acting, Improvisation/Creation and other related genres.
As a performance based course, students participate in eight full scale productions over the course of their studies. Students work with leading professional choreographers, directors and producers on these productions, enabling them to network and gain valuable industry contacts and experience vital for their professional careers.
Made up of 14 full time staff, the core Transit Dance team are widely sought not only in Australia, but also throughout the world to educate both students and teachers on a regular basis. Their individual credentials are of the highest calibre and Transit is committed to providing our students with the best teachers in the field.
Our Student-to-Staff ratio of 10:1 (One of the highest in the industry) also ensures all students get the support and attention they need. Audition #3: Saturday November 12, 2022
Auditions take place at Transit Dance studios in Melbourne, and consist of technique, choreography and interview components, conducted by Transit Dance directors and core faculty.
Interstate and International applicants have the option of attending the audition digitally (via ZOOM) if they cannot travel to Melbourne.
