Gain invaluable experience training alongside a professional company.

From 2025, Australasian Dance Collective is offering CUA60120 Advanced Diploma of Professional Dance (Elite Performance). This nationally recognised qualification is delivered by ADC in partnership with Australian Teachers of Dancing (RTO 31624).

The program is delivered over one year, full-time at ADC Studios in Meanjin/Brisbane, Queensland.

Subjects

ADC’s Pre-Professional Program offers a nationally recognised training qualification through a specialised curriculum tailored to provide dancers with essential tools for a sustainable career in dance.

Focus areas for ADC’s Pre-Professional Program:

CREATIVE PRACTICE
Students will expand their understanding of creative practice and develop their unique artistic voices through exposure to a broad range of choreographic processes including improvisation and task work. Understanding and experiencing collaboration, and the associated skills, will be key to their development.

PHYSICAL PRACTICE
Students will develop and refine their skills in a variety of contemporary and classical techniques, bolstered by conditioning and somatic practices. Through the pursuit of excellence, the training will create skilful, versatile and dynamic dance artists.

SUSTAINABLE PRACTICE
Students will gain the skills required to be industry ready in the current and future arts landscape. Wellbeing, resilience and creative capability will be prioritised alongside practical skills in producing, arts administration and art form advocacy.

MULTIDISCIPLINARY PRACTICE
Students will work across a range of mediums and environments to develop their skills in creating for and collaborating within digital, site-specific and non-traditional settings.

Teachers

ADC Pre-Professional Program Director, Alison Currie has 19 years of industry experience as a choreographer, mentor and performer. Alison oversees the course, inviting various local and national teachers, guest choreographers and industry professionals to enhance the training program.

When in residence, Artistic Director & CEO Amy Hollingsworth, Associate Artistic Director Jack Lister, ADC Company Artists and guest creatives will deliver classes, workshops and repertoire.

This close connection with the ADC collaborators exposes students to a vast range of experiences and creative approaches. Students will benefit from a range of focus areas that are vital skills for establishing a successful arts practice.
