Course Details

Transitioning students into the professional industry, the ACPA Academy provides a variety of secondary and tertiary qualification options for South Australian artists. A performing arts institute that encourages the opportunity for students to follow their aspirations to become professionals in the industry. With over 21 years of experience, our institute offers some of the most experienced industry experts, aligned with personal coaching and mentoring to produce the finest performing artists in Australia. The ACPA Academy team combine knowledge, passion and expertise with quality training to focus students in their desired career path.

PERFORMING ARTS HIGH SCHOOL:

The High School Program here at the ACPA Academy is a full-time pre-professional program for elite students in years 10, 11 and 12. This program supports students who are looking to fast track their training whilst completing their SACE studies. This intensive program sees students training approximately 18 hours per week Students enrolling into the high school program undertake their academic subjects at Thebarton Senior College as part of the Special Interest Academy. The Special Interest Academy offers an integrated learning program that allows student to combine subjects and reduce their workload, with teachers focusing on tailoring the learning to the needs and interest of each individual. Genres: Music Theatre, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Lyrical, Ballet, Commercial, Choreography, Acting, Audition Techniques and more.

CUA30120 CERTIFICATE III IN DANCE:

The Certificate III in Dance is perfect for school age students looking to advance their education and bridge the pathway between school and fulltime training. This course is offered one day a week with students also participating in technique classes such as jazz, tap and contemporary. These students are presented with the opportunity to gain industry skills in a variety of different areas, while increasing their technical ability. Students who successfully complete their Certificate III in dance can achieve up to 70 Stage 2 credits to put towards their SACE Certificate.

CUA40120 CERTIFICATE IV IN DANCE:

The Certificate IV in Dance is a one-year intensive program focused on the performing arts . The ACPA Academy provides students with the confidence to reach their potential and exceed all expectations. Training 6 hours a day in our state of the art facility, students are trained under the guidance of our world class teaching faculty, lecturers and mentors who will nurture their development to becoming a professional in this industry. This course requires a high level of commitment, participation, and time management as it links students to the world of professional performance. Genres: Music Theatre, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Lyrical, Ballet, Commercial, Choreography, Acting, Audition Techniques and more.

CUA51520 DIPLOMA OF PROFESSIONAL DANCE (ELITE)

The Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance) is the next step for students who are looking to further their professional dance training. Run as a full-time program, this course can be completed over 1 or 2 years. Unlike the certificate courses, the Diploma reflects the role of dancers working or aspiring to work in the professional world. This includes being a performer, teacher and/or choreographer. The course allows students to focus their energy on fine tuning their skills and knowledge in their chosen industry. At this level the individual students are expected to apply theory and creative skills in real-world situations.

As a nationally recognised qualification, there is a strong focus on leadership, management and mentoring skills that are necessary to become an exceptional teacher. You will be working alongside mentors who have years of industry experience in teaching, stage management, production, business management and more.
