New Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance) for Jason Winters Classical/Contemporary Course
Students enrolled in the new full-time Jason Winters’ Classical/ Contemporary Course at Brent Street will now be eligible for the award of CUA50111 Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance) in addition to the award of Certificate IV in Performing Arts (91508NSW). As a registered training organisation, Brent Street has been approved by the Australian Skills Quality Authority to deliver the Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance).
Following its 2011 world premiere, Graeme Murphy’s Romeo & Juliet by the Australian Ballet is set to sweep audiences off their feet across Australia with seasons in Brisbane from 23 March, Adelaide from 25 May and Perth from 10 October. With his trademark dramatic style, Murphy has transformed the world’s most famous love story into something entirely new yet timeless.
Adrien Nookadu, Year 10 student of The McDonald College, Sydney, has been chosen as the face of Network Ten's re-boot of the 80's hit show, Young Talent Time. Auditioning along with tens of thousands of other young Aussie hopefuls, Adrien has been chosen as a member of the Young Talent Time cast.
After their triumphant season in 2009 with Raise the Red Lantern, The National Ballet of China are returning to Melbourne in an Australian-exclusive season of one of China’s most famous classical love stories. Described as China’s Romeo and Juliet, The Peony Pavilion will be performed in the State Theatre, the Arts Centre Melbourne from 15 – 18 March 2012. 
Paul DeMasson, a former principal artist and ballet master with The Australian Ballet has died. He passed away yesterday after a short, aggressive illness. He was 57. Paul is survived by his wife, Sakura and will be greatly missed by the Australian and international arts community.
Josephine Ridge has been appointed as the incoming Creative Director of the Melbourne Festival. She will succeed Brett Sheehy, whose fourth and final Festival will be presented this October. Josephine Ridge is one of Australia's most experienced and internationally respected arts identities and is currently Executive Director and co-CEO of Sydney Festival.
