This Adelaide Fringe Festival new theatre company Beg Borrow and Steal will present eventyr: a garden story. The outdoor theatre and dance adventure, based on the much-loved fictional writings of Hans Christian Andersen, will premiere in the Adelaide Botanic Gardens from March 1-7.

The Dance Board has committed $300,000 over three years to support contemporary dance in WA. In 2012 the Board is offering support via two categories of funding: Western Australia Contemporary Dance Initiative – Projects and Western Australian Contemporary Dance Initiative – Skills and Arts Development. This Initiative is open to WA based dance artists, companies and organisations.

17 year old Karli Dinardo, student of Todd Patrick of Patrick Studios Australia, has been offered a scholarship to train at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in New York City. Karli will head to NYC this month to begin the 2yr Integrated Conservatory Program studying dance, acting and musical theatre.

Students enrolled in the new full-time Jason Winters’ Classical/ Contemporary Course at Brent Street will now be eligible for the award of CUA50111 Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance) in addition to the award of Certificate IV in Performing Arts (91508NSW). As a registered training organisation, Brent Street has been approved by the Australian Skills Quality Authority to deliver the Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance).
