The Boy From Oz Original Company I Go To Rio Virtual Reunion

The Original production of Gale Edward’s musical The Boy From Oz made its World Premiere in 1998. This year is the 20th anniversary of the closing of Ben Gannon’s and Robert Fox’s record-breaking homegrown production based on the life Peter Allen who died 28 years ago. The purpose of this virtual reunion of the Original Company of the production, dancing to I Go To Rio, is a Celebration of The Australian Arts Community, an empowering trip down memory lane with the Original Cast, Crew and Creatives.

Petition – Support for Australian Arts and Entertainment Workers now

The arts and entertainment industry has been devastated by shutdowns caused by the coronavirus crisis. It was the first sector to be hit, when gatherings of 500 people or more were banned, and is likely to be one of the last sectors to be released from restrictions. Data recently released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics shows fewer than half of businesses in the sector were operating by the end of March. There is however something we can do to help.

New online workshop helping arts and cultural organisations support people with disability

A new online workshop is helping arts and cultural organisations improve how they connect with and support people with disability or who are Deaf, especially in relation to online content and services. The workshop is being delivered by Accessible Arts – NSW’s peak arts and disability organisation – which upskills up to 1000 people every year through its disability awareness training programs. The next online workshop is Wednesday 17 June at 10am. Another workshop is scheduled for Wednesday 15 July. Private and bespoke online training sessions can also be arranged.
