La Danseuse film on Loïe Fuller Palace Films is now presenting Stéphanie Di Giusto’s screen biography La Danseuse (“The Dancer”) in cinemas nationwide. French singer/actress Soko and Lily-Rose Depp lead a star-studded cast in the film, which is inspired by the true story of Loïe Fuller and Isadora Duncan. These two rival pioneers of modern dance and theatrical performance lived in late 19th-century Paris and have become iconic figures in dance history.

Australia Council funds 221 projects

2017 Grants from Australia Council for the ArtsThe Australia Council for the Arts recently announced a $6.1 million investment through its latest grants round. The funding will support 221 projects delivered by 147 individual artists, 25 groups and 49 small-to-medium arts organisations across Dance, Music, Theatre, Literature, Emerging and Experimental Arts, Community Arts and Cultural Development, and Visual Arts.
