UNDRGRND returns with high-octane show
Melbourne’s hottest night of dance is back! UNDRGRND is a fusion of performance and party, where Australia’s best hip-hop, ballroom, commercial and contemporary dancers rally their most dynamic moves to the beats of top DJs.
Returning Friday, April 6, UNDRGRND will present an adrenaline-pumping show featuring 200+ dancers, special guest appearances, drink specials and a chance to party with some of Melbourne’s greatest creative talents from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. at TRAK Lounge, Toorak, VIC.
This year, UNDRGRND is working with Australia’s queen of commercial dance – Yvette Lee! She’s creating an opening number in collaboration with Bonnie Anderson that promises to blow your mind. Also, DJ Christian Dean has joined the 2018 creative team.
Emerging and established choreographers will be showcasing their latest work in the fun and creative nightclub environment. It was just confirmed that 30 dance acts will be presented. Choreographers include Indefinite Dance Company Founder Casey Chellew, commercial dancer and choreographer Jordan Charles Herbet, Transit Dance full timer Dominique Cowden, Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance graduate Ben Scarmozzino, Tenacity Dance Crew director Donnie Dimase and former Leigh Warren Dance Hub director Daniel Jaber.
Companies that are set to perform include Boss Dance Company and Provokativ. A quartet called JAMN (short for Josh, Amy, Matt and Nesa) will also create a work. These four dancers graduated from Spectrum Dance in 2016 after having studied together for three years. Between the four of them, they have performed all over Melbourne in numerous corporate gigs.
