Tracks Dance Company Choreolab

Choreolab 101 is back… early this year! This much-loved development program at Tracks Dance Company is a space for exploring the mechanics and creative scope of choreography in an artistically rich environment. Facilitated in 2023 by dance animateurs Kelly Beneforti and Spillett. Tracks’ Choreographic Program offers a unique, specialised environment to delve into dance-making. 

Beginning in March, and over 10 weeks, a group of participants have the opportunity to learn, explore and experience choreographic skills and processes, and create short dance works together with the support of the Tracks creative team. It begins with a weekend intensive where we will submerge into an immersive, rich and playful environment for choreographic creativity.

The program is aimed at participants with some level of experience in dance or movement (in any style) or with a current arts practice, and curiosity into the choreographic craft. Course cost is $300. However, if this creates a barrier for you, please do get in touch to discuss the option of a scholarship place.

Tracks is excited to build their suite of learning opportunities with a new development program on offer this year, facilitated by Jess Devereux. Choreolab 102 is a weekly workshop for moving, conversation, listening, writing and collaboration. Aimed at people who have previously participated in Tracks’ Choreographic Development Program, it’s a space to deepen your choreographic interests, gather with peers and expand on your knowledge of devising dance.

Facilitated as a shared choreographic practice space, the weekly workshops are an immersive studio environment for moving, reflecting, idea-generating, dialogue, listening, writing and spanning time together creatively. There is an optional extra workshop, 9pm-midnight on Sat April 29th.

Cost is $300.
