Sydney Dance Company’s Teacher Training program provides a structured learning framework alongside peer discussion that supports you to evolve your own experiences into clear, confident teaching. Whether you are a dance professional transitioning from a performance career, a dance student aspiring to teach, or an experienced teacher looking to refine your craft, this program offers you a unique opportunity to master the art of movement and dance pedagogy.

This nationally accredited Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management (CUA40320) invites you to deepen your understanding of how students learn, bridging the cognitive with the physical to bring your technical and creative insights to life for others.

Over 12 months, engage in a structured blend of weekly theory lectures and tutorials — offered face-to-face or virtually — alongside four immersive, week-long studio intensives at Sydney Dance Company.

The program combines practical workshops, expert led discussions and real-time teaching applications, empowering you to evolve your approach and build confidence in the studio.

As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO #45863) Sydney Dance Company offers the nationally recognised qualification (CUA40320) Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management upon successful completion.

Sydney Dance Company’s Teacher Training fee is $6,950. Upon acceptance, you will be required to confirm your position within seven days of receiving your letter offer by paying the $950 enrolment fee, which is applied to your total fee.

Sydney Dance Company welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds with a variety of dance training experiences. Applicants must be at least 17 years of age and demonstrate competency in their chosen dance genre. The next intake commences 26 January 2026. Applications close 12 January.
