Sydney Dance Company presents “momenta” at Coliseum Theatre
Sydney Dance Company will explode onto the Sydney Coliseum Theatre stage in Rafael Bonachela’s latest creation momenta on Saturday 10 August coming directly from a triumphant season at Roslyn Packer Theatre.
Critics have been unanimous in their praise for Bonachela’s signature choreographic style including:
“At its heart, momenta is a work about the grace and power of human vulnerability. It’s a beautiful, luminous, cadent spectacle of artistry and athleticism, where world-class dancers blaze majestically across the stage like demi-gods.” ★★★★★ Sydney Morning Herald
momenta offers audiences an invitation to rejoice in the beauty and fragility of our shared humanity. From the most tender exchanges to an intense physical storm, witness an extraordinary force of movement, striking individuality and powerful unity, escalating to a joyous release.
This mesmerising work with Nick Wales’ evocative soundscapes, Elizabeth Gadsby’s arresting set design and Damien Cooper’s striking lighting presents a kaleidoscope of energy, capturing moments where individual trajectories collide and intertwine.
