‘Sweet Meniscus’ at Anywhere Theatre Fest
Dance enthusiasts only have two days left to see Joseph Stewart’s bold new dance work Sweet Meniscus at the 2014 Anywhere Theatre Festival, an annual theatre/performance festival currently taking place in locations all over Brisbane City. The festival, which kicked off May 7, will end this Sunday, May 18.
Collaborating with writer Torrey Atkin, emerging choreographer Joseph Stewart presents a premier work combining the historic Spring Hill Baths with three of Queensland Ballet’s finest dancers. This stunning combination creates an evocative and unmissable performance reflecting on human’s unique and unusual relationship with water.
Sweet Meniscus features Queensland Ballet’s Principal Rachael Walsh and Company Dancers Eleanor Freeman and Jack Lister. Stewart is also a company member himself.
Four performances will be presented on Saturday and Sunday, the first at 6 p.m. and the second at 8 p.m. each day. For more information or to book tickets, visit anywherefest.com/meniscus.
This year’s Anywhere Theatre Festival also presented Claire Marshall in a development of her contemporary work Sub-Division and Coleman Grehan in a short butoh/dance-theatre piece called HIM.
