‘STOMP’ performer to teach Sydney tappers

STOMP showAll tappers in the Sydney area are invited to a Tap Masterclass led by professional tap dancer, choreographer and teacher Simon Watts from New Zealand. Watts is currently touring in the acclaimed production of STOMP. He has been tap dancing for 20 years and teaching and performing internationally for the last decade.

Watts toured Europe in 2010 with the tap show Tap Reloaded, which included a collective of tap dancers from around the world. In 2012 he completed an extensive tour of Australia with tapping and drumming show Gene Peterson Live

For the last five years Watts has been a proud tour cast member of West End and Broadway show STOMP. While performing in STOMP he has toured mostly Europe, but has gone as far and wide as Brazil, Philippines, Dubai, Beirut and currently Australasia. Living out of his suitcase to spread his love for rhythm has been his continuous source of motivation and inspiration. Get ready for a rhythm filled afternoon if you attend the Sydney Tap Masterclass!

The masterclass will be Sunday, August 5 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Goodhew Dance Academy, located at 557 Gardeners Road, Mascot, NSW. Registration costs $30, which is payable at the class.
