Stephanie Lake Company re-launches First Nations Internship

The Stephanie Lake Company is very excited to announce that applications are now open for their First Nations Placement for 2023. 

They are welcoming all Naarm/Melbourne-based Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dancers and/or choreographers, of all levels of experience, to apply for a placement with the company, across their 2023 program. 

The successful dance artist will be involved in various exciting projects across 2023, including: Rehearsal of existing works, eg; Manifesto; Creative development of new work – working alongside the company dancers in creative tasks and rehearsal; Insight into the work ‘behind the scenes’ including production, producing and collaboration; and mentorship from Stephanie Lake. 

Dates and times are flexible and can be designed according to the availability of the recipient, adding up to the equivalent of approximately 7 full-time weeks spread across January – December 2023. One position will be offered. The internship will take place at various studios in Naarm/Melbourne.

This placement is open to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dance artists based in Naarm/Melbourne, Australia. International applications are not eligible. Applicants are expected to have completed tertiary level training (or equivalent) and above. Applications are now open and close Wednesday December 14. Notification will be Wednesday December 21.
