SDC’s Intensive Workshop Week 2013
Sydney Dance Company (SDC) announces that applications are now open for their annual Intensive Workshop Week, taking place July 22-26. Open to tertiary/vocational dance students and emerging professionals, the Intensive Workshop Week provides a unique opportunity to experience Sydney Dance Company life, from technique classes to repertoire rehearsals and creative development.
A highlight of the Intensive Workshop Week 2013 program will be the opportunity to learn choreography from Artistic Director Rafael Bonachela’s Project Rameau and 2 One Another, and to work closely with him in challenging creative sessions that incorporate task work and improvisation.
The week is led by SDC Dance Director Amy Hollingsworth and the company dancers, and in previous years has proven to be fertile ground for the recruitment of new ensemble members, with both Jesse Scales and Holly Doyle being past participants in the program.
Limited places are available. Dancers who are interested in the program can apply to SDC Education Coordinator Katherine Duhigg at kathd@sydneydancecompany.com. Applications should include a copy of applicant’s CV and details of their training and performance experience.
Sydney Dance Company Intensive Workshop Week 2013 will take place at Sydney Dance Company studios from Monday, July 22 to Friday, July 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. An Early Bird Enrolment Fee of $350 is available if booked and paid before Friday, April 26. The full fee is $385.
For further information, contact Duhigg via email or by calling 02 9258 4800. Sydney Dance Company is Australia’s leading contemporary dance company, presenting new works in Sydney, around Australia and internationally under the Artistic Direction of Rafael Bonachela.
