Registrations are now open for DirtyFeet’s The Right Foot – Celebrating 10 Years! DirtyFeet invites participants from all backgrounds and experiences to their popular workshop series The Right Foot. The workshop series focuses on contemporary dance and performance techniques and this year culminates in a 10 Year Performance Celebration at Monkey Baa Theatre. Their 2022 workshops will be facilitated by Gabriella Green-Olea and Chris Bunton.

“I think organisations like DirtyFeet are a great example of including people with disability in the arts. They bring people together to have fun, learn new skills, are included, and there is a range of diversity,” said Chris Bunton, Co-Workshop Leader.

The Right Foot offers contemporary dance workshops for young people (ages 14-30 years) with and without disability, providing a creative activity for those who may otherwise not have access to dance. DirtyFeet believes in the positive impact dance has on people’s lives- it is a creative way to improve health and fitness, encourage self-expression and build confidence. The workshops are also an important professional pathway for aspiring young artists to gain experience to further their performance career.

“We have disabilities, but it doesn’t matter: we can all move and be together and no one cares about the differences,” said 2018 participant Brianna Lowe.

This year’s workshop will take place at Harold Park Community Hall (1 Dalgal Wy, Forest Lodge NSW 2034) on Friday 18 November: 3.00-6.30pm; Saturday 19 November: 10.00am-1.30pm; Sunday 21 November 10.00am-1.30pm; Friday 25 November: 3.00-6.30pm; Saturday 26 November: 10.00am-1.30pm; and Sunday 27 November 10.00am-1.30pm.

A performance will be on Sunday 4 December at Monkey Baa Theatre from 6.00-7.00 pm with a 2pm artist call. Cost of the Right Foot workshop is $480.00.
