RAD call for contributions: Shaping Bodies, Shaping Minds
The Royal Academy of Dance Australia has announced it will host its third international conference Shaping Bodies, Shaping Minds on January 18 – 19, 2020. Following the success of two previous conferences in Sydney in 2016 and Brisbane in 2018, the Academy’s third conference will also trigger a global year of celebrations marking 100 years of the Royal Academy of Dance.
Shaping Bodies, Shaping Minds will be one of the first events to officially mark the centenary year here in Australia, and will bring together the dance sector in a year when the Academy reflects on its position as a leader in dance education globally and looks to the future to continually develop and broaden its exploration in the field.
With a focus on innovations, provocations and insights into the role of dance education, training and interdisciplinary engagement in the shaping of bodies and minds to meet a diverse and often challenging dance landscapes, the Academy are looking for contributions which address Shaping Bodies, Shaping Minds themes.
Contributions may take the form of lectures, research presentations, practical demonstrations and panel discussions and the RAD encourages expressions of interest from Early Career Researchers and postgraduate students wishing to present their work in a supportive environment.
